Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) October 2011
The Agency Workers Directive will be implemented in the UK on 1 October 2011 through the Agency Workers Regulations 2010. The purpose of the Directive is to provide temporary agency workers with equal treatment, in terms of basic working and employment conditions, as they would be entitled to, had they been employed directly to do the same job.[more]

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) is the world's largest electronic media show and we are pleased to be representing PCR this week at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from 11th April to 14th April. The show's tagline is "Where Content Comes to Life" is precisely the reason why for the last 85 years it has been an essential destination for all media and entertainment professionals. PCRs expanding Search and Selection team
In the latter months of 2010 PCR announced that we were launching a new Search and Selection division, with Mark Abbott our sales director leading the way by focussing on senior interim and permanent technology appointments within the broadcast and media sector. Since then Ben Swanton has joined the team, bringing a wealth of experience in search assignments for senior level sales and commercial positions across the media sector,nationally and internationally, and is already seeing significant success within both existing and new clients to PCR.[more]

PCR has seen a good start to 2011 with contract requirements on the up and placement of some very senior permanent candidates in key roles for a number of clients. Projects put on hold during 2010 are now getting the green light, and generally the market is much more buoyant than in the same period last year. Candidate confidence is also growing to make enquiries and moves, and as always PCR Is busy networking with the very best on the market both contract and perm.[more]

1st March 2010 - Our new flagship Head Office opens at 35 Heddon Street in London. Following the success during 2009 of our newly established office and team at Shaftesbury Avenue, we're moving, upgrading, and up-sizing to a lovely new, purpose-fitted, office suite at 35 Heddon Street, just off Regent Street. It's completely a co-incidence that it's right by the Absolut Ice-Bar, although of course such a landmark does make giving directions easier! The new premises mean we can continue to expand the team aggressively and of course with the majority of our client base in and around town, our consultants in Cambridge will have much improved hot-desk facilities for both client and candidate visits. We plan to hold a number of welcome events over the course of the Spring and Summer, so look out for your invite! [more]

Visual Planet, digital signage specialists, created an internal communications system that allows PCR to send news feeds, details of client projects and assignments, contractor and permanent placements, from its internal information systems to a number of large format screens strategically placed throughout the headquarters. 77% of broadcast engineers looking for new jobs says PCR Salary Trends Survey
Seventy-seven per cent of broadcast engineers and 75% of web developers say that they are actively looking for new employment or will be within the next 12 months, according to the latest salary survey conducted by PCR Recruitment. This level of activity is also reflected in reported average pay increases over the last year of between 5-15%, or at least three times the rate of inflation.[more]
