Contracting through PCR - Advice for Contractors
If you are a new contractor it is very important that you understand the implications of the different ways of working and make an informed decision on what is right for you.
Whilst these different ways of working are outlined below, we would advise you to click onto some of the recommended sites to gain much more detail on what is a fairly complicated subject.
You will need to be clear if you are "inside" or "outside" of IR35 which is very dependant on the terms of the contract under which you are working.
Limited Company
Essentially you set up, own and run your own limited company which carries all of the legal responsibilities associated with owning a company. PCR can give you advice on how to do this.

Umbrella Company
Umbrella companies can take away the time-consuming admin of being a contractor, taking care of your invoicing and sorting out all your tax and national insurance payments, making sure the chancellor is kept happy and that you don’t fall foul of IR35.
We work with a number of Umbrella companies here at PCR and we don’t recommend any one company. However if you are new to contracting or imply don’t want the admin of setting up your own limited company, we’re happy to give you the contact details of a selection of umbrellas, so you can call them to discuss your specific requirements directly.
